Mental Break

I guess the winter and all the cold has finally gotten to us. We decided to go ahead and try to get the kids to sleep in the same room. This has been our goal for a while, but we decided why not tonight. I mean we are already potty training, why not just add one more extreme parenting sport to the mix. So we moved G's bunk to Lillian's room and started the party. We started at 6:45p.m. It is now 9:00p.m and I don't think they are asleep. Lillian is starting to lose her mind and G is just having a blast. He is totally being a little brother right now. Well after many, many interventions, Peter decided to go lay down with Lillian and help her get to sleep. I haven't heard anything for a little bit. Many it will work. I am sure the next few days will be interesting. Peter has offered G's room to me to do whatever I want with it. I am planning to put my sewing stuff in there and all of Lillian's art supplies. I am hoping it will be a happy craft/hide away room. Peter thinks it will be incentive for me to get the kids to sleep together. I don't think I'll move my sewing machine in there just yet. I may be moving a bunk back in. Yikes!

On the potty note, we did have a little success today. G doesn't really want to wear underwear. Hence the following interchange...

Melanie: G, when you are three you need to go on the potty all of the time and wear underwear, so we need to start working on this, now.
Grayson: But my just two. My not three yet.

G is getting very smart suddenly and a little hard headed. I have no idea where he got that, but I am afraid we will be going hard head to hard head for the next little while.

Okay, so I am off to read while Peter is maning the sleep scene. I'm sure I'll be dealing with this until 9 another night soon.

What a smart Maynor. G and B must be talking. B and I have discussed his thumb attachment to which he states, "I'll stop when I'm four." Every time I bring it up he reminds me, "I'm not four yet, Mommy. Please stop asking me."

Charlie opposed big boy underwear at first too. We found that he was willing to wear boxers or boxer briefs, though, since they were "like daddy's." Is that too much information?
