Working myself out of a job!

The entire point of the mommy gig is to work yourself out of a job. It is a long process, but each new skill learned is a step toward independence for both of you. Now, I love my kids and I love to hang out with them, laugh, snuggle, etc. I don't love doing 5,000 things for them. I was thrilled when they could dress themselves. I'm calling the latest step of independence. Grayson can tie his shoes. Are you kidding me? This is awesome! Lillian also kicked all car seats to the curb now that she is 8. All of these little things free up time and energy to do other fun things with the kids like ride bikes or cook or laugh or play a game. I love it!
