Christmas movie chatter and such

The kids watched The Polar Express movie on Friday night. I got home right after it ended. They loved it!

M: Grayson, how was the movie? Did you like it?

G: Mama, I loved it. I even teared up a little bit.

Are you kidding me? That is too much.

I have been working a lot the last few days. Lillian washed the dishes for me on Friday night. Wow! I mean WOW!

M: Lillian, I have to go to work for a few hours I'll be back later.

L: What kind of mama stuff do you want be to do for you?

I could get used to this. The family gave me the royal treatment of washing dishing, taking care of dinner (pizza) and cleaning their rooms. It was a treat to know all is well on the home front. I think they had lots of fun, too.

I did make it home to go ice skating in the outdoor rink at Forest Park. The kids knew we were going ice skating, but they didn't know that Santa would be there and a reindeer. They got to pet the reindeer and Santa did a skate around the rink with the family. That was super helpful because we needed some extra hands. They got pretty good at skating by the end. I think we were all worn out. It was lots of fun and hopefully a new winter activity when both parents are on board for assistance. It is really fun to start doing bigger kid stuff. All in all a nice weekend with some holiday festivities.
