First Game

Lillian's first basketball game went great! I could not believe those were the same kids I have been watching at practice. They seemed to sort of understand basketball. Lillian's team made several points and ended up winning the game. The referee was unbelievably kind and patient. The coaches were able to be on the floor to help the kiddos. Thank goodness. Lillian had a great time. She got to pass the ball in from out of bounds a few times and dribble down the court. She was under the opponent's basket all alone at one point and attempted a shot. The coach directed her back to the correct basket and she was on her way. She was all smiles which I was so thankful to see. We all had a great time. Our friend, John Thro, came along. The kids call him Papa John. Peter took us all to lunch. It was a fun morning and we are all looking forward to the next game. Lillian's coach was really excited and told Lillian she had a future as a point guard. Wouldn't that be fun!

I am reminded of the time as a HIGH SCHOOLER that Camille shot at the wrong goal in church league ball. Maybe we should have started her at Lillian's age! FUN FAMILY TIME!

I'm ready to take Lillian's video to La Tech where her Mom and Aunt Mellie went to Bball camp in the glory days there........after all, she has coach assessed great foot work and we know she is a leader so definitely a top ten point guard in the making. It's especially good to start out playing with the boys! Go Lillian! Love, Auntie
