Destination: Smoothie King

Lillian has been riding her bike a lot, lately. She has bicycle with training wheels. She had not really riden it until this last couple of weeks, but seems to be making progress very quickly. She is really getting good at it. It makes her seem older. Well, our blender broke and we wanted smoothies. We decided to make the trek to Smoothie King on the Loop. I put G in the umbrella stroller, Lillian put on her helmet and hopped on the bike. We were off. She did a great job riding over there which involved us crossing the street a couple of times. She rides fairly quickly and I discovered this is a great mommy workout. I had a walk fast and at some points jog a little to keep up with her. We enjoyed smoothies and watched some men do some work on the Loop. (The highlight for Grayson.) Then she rode all the way back. I really can not believe that it actually happened. It was a very fun new thing. Peter guessed the round trip was about a mile. Wow! Grayson is dying to ride a bike, but is just a little too short for our tricycle. Peter found a small, pink, flowered bike in the alley and has been hard at work repairing it for Grayson. Hopefully, the little guy will be on the move later in the week.

Zack just started riding his bike, too. Your right, it does make them seem so much older when they are doing "big kid" things. They really grow up too fast. Sammy also has a hard time with the trike.

I love reading your blogs, Mel, plus I love seeing other young moms' comments on it. It brings back sweet memories.

Tell Lillian that g-daddy and hunna are proud of her, please. Is Peter going to paint G's pink bike. I used to get things on the side of the street and fix them up, too. G. sounds so much fun.
