Poor Sock

Yesterday, we were all in the car and Lillian asked Peter to roll her window down. She took off her sock and started holding it out of the window. She has gotten in trouble for this many times and has been told not to throw things out of the window. She said, "I won't let it go." Well, she did. We saw it in the middle of a very busy street in the rear view mirror. She cried and cried for about thirty minutes. "I want my sock. Please." We tried to explain that the street was too busy and that we could not get it. M, "That is why we can't throw things out of the window. They are gone forever." Lillian, "But mama, we could all hold hands and go out in the street to get it." At least she knows, to hold hands when crossing the street.
