I'm calling it...

For a while now when people ask me if I am a runner, I always say "No, not really". Well, my trusty running buddy, Lisa, and I are going to take a little ride to Nashville this weekend and run the Nashville 1/2 marathon. It is the rock n' roll marathon and I am going to either rock it in my own slow way or roll myself to the finish. And I have decided that when you have two 1/2 marathons under your belt you are a real runner even if power walkers could possibly beat you. I'm excited and nervous and have been spending tons of time running and working and mommying. I promise to sit around and blog about t-ball and Lillian's bike riding and Peter's softball playing next week. Maybe I'll even post an Easter picture or two.

My goal for the run is to finish and to not walk. I have a secret time goal that I'll keep between me and Peter and Lisa, of course. Heck, I get a weekend away with one of my favorite girl friends I just have to run 13.1 miles to have it. I usually dedicate my runs to someone or certain miles to people. It helps me mentally when I want to quit. I have decided to run this one for my Lillian. First grade and reading have been hard for her, but she keeps getting up and going to school even when she hates it. So, Lillian this one is for you. You are my favorite little girl and I would do anything for you including run 13.1 miles. You have taught me a lot about persevering when things are hard this year. This is the least I can do for you.

I am so excited to spend the weekend with you! I hope we can both finish this thing without walking and I can't wait to celebrate with you at the end too! Even if that means puking together and waiting in line for the porta potty! Lillian is a treasure and I know how much you love her. I know you will do beyond your expectations because you are doing it for her. She is on your team and so am I...run on!
