Home

My Bible study this week was on a few things one being heaven.  It was talking about our focus being on heaven and weighing things in light of eternity.  I mean good stuff.  When you can weigh things in light of eternity, you are reminded that a lot of things aren't that big of a deal.  It is a constant battle.  The study ended with a story.  It was so beautiful to me that I thought I would share it. Here is my paraphrase.

A little boy was dying and he asked his mom what it was like to die.  She thought for a little bit and said... Remember when you were a little boy and you went to sleep in our bed.  In the night, your father would lovingly carry you to your own room.  When you woke up, you were in your own room.  Heaven is like that.  It is like waking up in your own room.  Your heavenly Father carries you there.

Home.  It is being home.  What a beautiful, beautiful picture.  I often long for my bed and my room.  It is a place of safety and comfort and love.   I can't wait to be home.

Good reminder- it's really easy for me to get fixed on things here and now. I need a better eternal perspective!

Crying now. Thanks for the reminder.

Me, too. Can't wait. I often get impatient with being here and think, can't we just go now? Hasn't it been long enough?
